Juan Antonio Reyes, 75 of McAllen passed away suddenly January 4, 2026 at McAllen Medical Center. Juan was born on December 2, 1950 in McAllen, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Basilio and Antonia Reyes, sister Christella Yanez, brother Basilio Reyes Jr., wife Sandra Reyes, son USMC Lcpl Geraldo Travis Reyes, step daughter Joann Sepulveda, and beloved pet, Shallow .
He graduated from McAllen High School and moved to California for better employment options. He retired from IWP, running the logistics department in Coahchella, California after working with the company for 37 years. All that knew him, remember his wry sense of humor, big heart, and quick wit to put a smile on your face. After the death of his wife and son, he moved back home to McAllen to spend his remaining years with his siblings and become better acquainted with his numerous grand nieces and grand nephews.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sisters Maria D. Mora, Lucia Barriero, Norma O. Reyes, Melissa Garza and half-sister Belinda Garza, step children Crystal Rodriguez, Carmentina Lozano, Roy Lozano and step grandchildren, three nieces, seven nephews, and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen.
As per his wishes, he will be cremated, funeral arrangements are entrusted to Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen.
