Juan Ramon Dimas Sr., passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on March 30, 1949, in Edinburg, Texas, Juan lived a life marked by dedication, love, and faith.
Juan served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, a period of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of discipline and commitment. After his military service, he returned home to the Rio Grande Valley to his parents Erasmo and Otilia Dimas and six siblings, and to pursue a life and family with his beloved wife, Irene Dimas. Together they built a home and family in the country side with their two children, his daughter, Christina Dimas, and son, Johnny Dimas.
He was a skilled tradesman, primarily as a master electrician who could point out countless construction sites that helped to form the Rio Grande Valley into what we see today. At home he was a devoted rancher who cherished the time he spent tending to his animals and working the land. His love for nature was only matched by his passion for music. He was a talented guitarist and a strong singer, and a cherished member of his church choir, where he uplifted many with his faith-filled hymns and warm presence.
Juan's life was a testament to his loving and friendly nature. He was a pillar in his community, always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word. His unwavering faith guided him through life and was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Juan Ramon Dimas Sr. will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate a life truly well-lived. He now joins his wife in eternal peace.
Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 6:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen.
