Juan Salas Obituary

McAllen ~ Mr. Juan Jose Salas, 48, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in McAllen, Texas. Joey, as he was lovingly known by his family and friends, was born October 14, 1972 to Perfecto and Maria Salas in CD. Victoria, Mexico. Joey loved music, especially rock (Metallica). He loved dancing, hanging with friends and family. Always ready for a BBQ, parties and get togethers with family/ friends. Joey was an avid animal lover; his pets included dogs, snakes, birds and rabbit. He enjoyed putting together puzzles and collecting all sorts of memorabilia. He was a big time fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros. He worked at Chick-fil-A (La Plaza Mall) and McAllen ISD. Joey had a fiery personality but also had a huge heart.  He was unique and one of a kind. He loved the small world that he created.  He especially loved cold and rainy weather.  He loved the outdoors and his Budweiser.  Joey had a million questions and wanted answers, especially about life and GOD.  This past year, he dedicated himself to getting answers, accepting and believing in the Word of GOD.  This was a big step in his life,  and he was so proud of himself for accomplishing this.  Knowing that he had accepted God as his Savior brought peace of mind, body and soul for himself and his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents; his sons, Jose Antonio Salas & Isaiah Salas†; his sister, Jessica (Joe) Prieto, his brother, Lucas (Mannie) Martinez-Salas; three nieces, two nephews, and one grand niece; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and lifetime friends.
