Julia S. Salazar, 92, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at home in Edinburg. She was born on Thursday, June 19, 1930 in Mexico, the daughter of Ramon Sanchez and Maria Jacoba Ledesma. She lived in Edinburg/ San Carlos area for many years with her daughter.
Julia was a person full of life, she would eagerly await to go to the adult daycare where she would dance, play bingo, and many more activities. She also loved cooking back then. Even when she wasn't feeling her best, she still wanted to make her way to the adult daycare. She was a social butterfly and always made the room filled of laughter. She never denied an invitation to spend time with her family. Julia who was known as "Guela" is now resting, but she won't be forgotten, her caring, loving, and sense of humor will live forever in our hearts. Julia Salazar truly lived life to its fullest.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Her Husband Zenaido Salazar; Two Sisters- Gregoria and Leandra; Her son Javier Salazar.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved family; Her children- Adalberto Salazar, Elida Avila, Zenaido Salazar, Guadalupe Escobar, Hector Salazar; Her Sister- Maria Lusiana Sanchez; 20 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, December 4, 2022 at with a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, December 5, 2022 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Interment will follow at 11:00 am at La Piedad Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
