Mission – Julian Gonzalo Guzman entered eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. He was born February 2, 1974, in Weslaco, Texas to the late Guadalupe and Maria Guadalupe Guzman.
Julian graduated from Weslaco High School in 1992. He attended University of Texas A&M and South Texas Community College. He was employed by Univision for twenty years, Telemundo for one year and moved on to do freelance work. Whenever there was a chance, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and even attending car racing events. He also found great pleasure barbequing for his family. Julian loved spending his free time watching his kids play soccer and softball. He even “coached” his daughter’s softball team for a while.
Julian was preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe, his mother, Maria Guadalupe, and his half-brother, Jose. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Melissa Yvonne Guzman; son, Xavier Eden (Heiddy) Martinez of McAllen; daughters, Alyssa Natali, and Julissa Andrea, of Mission, sister, Cynthia Guzman of Dallas, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind countless friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and respected him.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2021 at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen, Texas.
