Laura Nelly Cantu, a loving, funny, and generous woman, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2023, in McAllen, Texas. Born on October 19, 1980, in Mexico, Laura was a devoted wife, mother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Laura attended Hidalgo High School and went on to have a successful career as a medical biller at DHR. Her hard work and dedication to her profession were evident to all who knew her. Laura's colleagues at DHR admired her strong work ethic, her sharp mind, and her ability to make everyone around her feel welcomed and valued. She was an important and cherished member of the DHR family.
Laura met her husband, Hector Cantu, early in life and the two built a beautiful life together. They were blessed with three daughters, Norma, Yvanna, and Alexa, who were the center of Laura's world. Also Natalia and Allen Cantu were being cared by Laura and Hector and loved them both as much. Laura was an incredible mother, always putting her daughters' needs before her own and making sure they knew they were loved.
Family time was a priority for Laura, and she made sure to create lasting memories with her loved ones. From simple moments like watching movies together, to family trips and celebrations, Laura's presence was always felt, and her laughter filled the room. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she was a pillar of strength and support for them all.
Laura had a knack for making everyone she met feel at ease. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she could always be counted on to bring a smile to the faces of those around her. Friends and family will fondly remember Laura's ability to find the humor in any situation, and her laughter will be greatly missed.
In her free time, Laura enjoyed relaxing and taking time for herself. She understood the importance of self-care and encouraged those around her to do the same. Laura's calm demeanor and gentle spirit made her a comforting presence in the lives of her loved ones.
Laura's generosity extended far beyond her family and friends. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, whether it was through her work at DHR or in her personal life. Her kindness and compassion will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Laura is survived by her loving husband, Hector Cantu, and their three daughters, Norma, Yvanna, and Alexa. She also leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity that will be cherished by her family, friends, and colleagues.
As we mourn the loss of Laura Nelly Cantu, we also celebrate her life and the lasting impact she had on those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate enough to know her. A memorial service will be held to honor Laura's life, and the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in her name.

Visitation will be Friday, April 28,2023 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home,1901 Pecan Blvd in McAllen.
