Lilia A. Hernandez

McAllen ~ Lilia A. Hernandez, 93, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on Thursday, April 21, 1932 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, the daughter of Blas Alonzo and Jovita Guerra. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Tomas A. Hernandez; daughter: Hermelinda Hernandez; siblings: Hortencia Rios, Evangelina Garcia, Jovita Pennsinger, Ricardo and Armando Alonzo

She is survived by her son: Agapito Hernandez; siblings: Aurelia Zenhertmeyer, Susan Killion, Victor Alonzo, Rita Alonzo, Blas Alonzo; two grandchildren.

Visitations will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Monday, July 14, 2025 with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen. Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery, 1801 Wichita Ave., McAllen. 

Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
