Lizandro Estevan Martinez, known affectionately to all as Steven, embarked on his final tour to the great beyond on December 4, 2023. He took his final bow in the same town where he first stepped onto life's stage, McAllen, Texas. Born on July 12, 1987, to Lizandro Martinez and Sandra Rivas, Steven quickly became the family's leading man, a role he played with an irresistible mix of humor and heart. Steven was the life of every party, and his laughter was infectious. He attended Nikki Rowe High School. Steven was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life – a sunny day at the beach, the laughter of his children, and the company of his family and friends. He had the rare ability to turn the mundane into the magnificent with just a quip and a grin. His family was Steven's favorite audience, and he was the beloved star in the eyes of his father, Lizandro, and mother, Sandra. His sisters, Laura Cassandra and Lizbeth Kristine, often played the straight men to his comedic antics, providing the perfect setup for his punchlines. Steven was a dedicated father who delivered dad jokes with love to his greatest creations, Lizandro Estevan Martinez, Jr., and Jaqueline Lee Ann Martinez. They were the joy of his life, and he cherished every moment with them. Steven's interest in going to the beach wasn't just about soaking up the sun; it was about setting the stage for his impromptu stand-up routines, using the seashells as props and the waves as his laugh track. He was always ready with a witty comeback or a playful jest. To say Steven was a character would be an understatement. He was a one-man show, a perpetual motion machine of mirth. He treated every day as an encore, always leaving his audience – whether it was one person or a roomful – wanting more. Steven's legacy is not just in the laughter he left behind, but in the way he taught us to find the comedy in life's every turn. As the final curtain falls on Steven's time with us, we remember a man who was as generous with his spirit as he was with his jokes. His was a life well-lived and well-laughed. While the spotlight may have dimmed here on earth, somewhere in the cosmos, a star is twinkling with Steven's signature sparkle, reminding us to keep smiling, keep laughing, and above all, to always enjoy the show.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Rivera Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
