Ludivina Villarreal

Ludivina Villarreal, de 70 años de edad y residente de McAllen, Texas, entró al descanso eterno el 14 de agosto de 2026. Nació el 28 de agosto de 1955 en México, hija de los ya fallecidos Matias Garza y Juana Olivarez Garza.

Ludivina será recordada como una amorosa esposa, madre, abuela, hermana y amiga, cuya vida estuvo siempre centrada en las personas que más amaba. Encontraba una gran alegría al compartir momentos con su familia, especialmente durante las reuniones familiares, donde estar rodeada de sus seres queridos le brindaba felicidad. También disfrutaba jugar a las maquinitas y valoraba profundamente las amistades y la convivencia que encontró a través de su comunidad y grupos de la iglesia. Le precedió en la muerte su hermano, Homero Garza.

Su calidez y presencia serán profundamente extrañadas por todos aquellos que tuvieron la dicha de conocerla y quererla. Sin embargo, los hermosos recuerdos que creó a lo largo de su vida permanecerán por siempre en los corazones de sus familiares y amigos.

Le sobreviven su amado esposo, Martin E. Villarreal; su hija, Julissa (Rigoberto) Martinez; su nieto, Rigoberto Martinez, Jr.; y sus hermanos: David Garza, Catalina Rodriguez, Matias Garza, Argelio Garza, Mirta Solis, Eva Castillo, Jesus Garza y Rosy Ramirez.

Su familia atesorará por siempre el amor, las risas y los recuerdos que compartieron a su lado. Aunque su ausencia deja un vacío imposible de llenar, la memoria de Ludivina continuará viva a través de la familia que tanto amó y de todas las vidas que tocó a lo largo de su camino.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el martes 18 de agosto de 2026, de 3:00 pm a 9:00 pm, con el rezo del Santo Rosario a las 7:00 pm en Rivera Funeral Home de McAllen. La Misa Funeral se llevará a cabo el miércoles 19 de agosto de 2026 a las 12:00 pm en la Iglesia Católica St. Joseph the Worker en McAllen. Al concluir la misa, el cortejo fúnebre partirá hacia el Cementerio Valley Memorial Gardens en Mission, donde se llevará a cabo el sepelio a la 1:00 pm.

Ludivina Villarreal, 70, of McAllen, Texas, entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2026. She was born on August 28, 1955, in Mexico, to the late Matias Garza and Juana Olivarez Garza.

Ludivina will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around the people she loved most. She found great joy in spending time with her family, especially during family gatherings, where being surrounded by those closest to her brought her happiness. She also enjoyed playing maquinitas and treasured the friendships and fellowship she found through her community and church groups. She is preceded in death by her brother Homero Garza.

Her warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but the memories she created throughout her life will remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is survived by her beloved husband: Martin E. Villarreal; her daughter: Julissa (Rigoberto) Martinez; her grandson, Rigoberto Martinez, Jr.; her siblings: David Garza, Catalina Rodriguez, Matias Garza, Argelio Garza, Mirta Solis, Eva Castillo, Jesus Garza, and Rosy Ramirez.

Her family will forever cherish the love, laughter, and memories they shared with her. Though her absence leaves a place that cannot be filled, Ludivina’s memory will continue to live on through the family she loved so dearly and the many lives she touched throughout her journey.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission at 1:00 pm.
