Luis Gutierrez Jr.

Luis Gutierrez Jr.,47, entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at his home in Corpus Christi. Luis was born in Saginaw, Michigan on August 6, 1974 to the late Luis Manuel Gutierrez, Sr. & Olga Solis Gutierrez. He is preceded in death by his brother: Trinidad Gutierrez; paternal grandparents: Luis Manuel Gutierrez and Gregoria Tovar Gutierrez; maternal grandparents: Gumecindo Solis, Jr. and Paula M. Solis.

Luis worked in the commercial construction industry for almost 25 years. He spent the majority of those years working for Advance Concrete out of Springfield, Missouri; 17 years to be exact!  Shortly after he got the opportunity of a lifetime to move up, he took a position with a great company Robins and Morton based in Birmingham, Alabama. Although it required a move to Florida, he quickly flourished and moved up within those 6 years with the company. Some of his proudest moments were talking about work and all his accomplisments. He loved his work with a passion.

Many of his hobbies included fishing, hunting and cooking. He was especially talented on a BBQ grill. Many great memories were made while he cooked for family and friends. Luis was always a family man and was very proud of his family, especially his girls. He had MANY friends over the years and although his job often took us state to state, he was well loved everywhere. He will be missed by many of his work friends who became family to him no matter where we ended up.

Luis is survived by his loving wife: Kari Lewis; his daughters, Sollicia Gutierrez, Analicia Gutierrez and Bre-Elle Gutierrez; one sister: Melinda Gutierrez; an uncle twin brother to his father: Luis Jose Gutierrez and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles of which include: Diane Frazier, Criselda Flores and Rosa Hernandez.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, June 17, 2022 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen with the Holy Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
