Magdalena R. Sanchez

McAllen - Mrs. Magdalena R. Sanchez, 79, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 23, 2019 surrounded by her family at McAllen Medical Center. Magdalena was born on August 15 1939 to Valentin and Estefana (Ortega) Ramos in McAllen, Texas. She was raised and lived all of her life in McAllen. She attended St. Joseph the Worker Church and more recently San Juan Diego Church where she was a member. Magdalena had a strong faith in God, she loved reading the Bible. She enjoyed tending her garden and doing needle pointing and truly lived her life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Ramiro Sanchez; three brothers; and one sister-in-law.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Max Sanchez, Eduardo Sanchez, Juan Abel Ramos and Benito Ramos; her sister: Manuela "Mela" Urbina; her sister-in-law: Guadalupe "Pine" Ramos; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd. from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the recital of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 10:00 am at San Juan Diego Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen.
