Maria G. Vargas

McAllen ~ Maria G. Vargas, 91, passed away Dec. 30, 2021 to be with our Lord. Maria was born on August 26, 1930 to Eliseo and Juanita Gonzalez. She is preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers and 1 sister; her husband Anastacio Vargas Sr. and her eldest daughter, Alicia V. Hernandez.

She is survived by her children; Yoli Wyatt (Bob), Gloria V. Gomez (Frank), Alma Cespedes (Homer), Anastacio Vargas Jr. (Aster), Edward Vargas; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mom and grandma.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 9 from 2 pm to 9 pm with rosary at 7 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen, TX 78501. On Monday 1/10/22 viewing will be at 9 am to 1 pm. Mass is at 1:30 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 2209 Kendlewood Ave., McAllen, TX 78501. Followed by burial services at 3:00 pm at Valley Memorial Gardens, Taylor and Nolana.
