Maria Luz Ibañez

McAllen ~ Maria Luz Ibañez, 88, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 5, 2024 at McAllen Medical Center. She was born on Wednesday, October 23, 1935 in General Bravo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents: Manuel Cantu and Rita Cantu Lucero and siblings: Luis Cantu, Macario Cantu, Manuel Cantu, Ruperta Hernandez, Martin Cantu and Ignacio Cantu.

She is survived by her children: Estanislao Guajardo, Alvaro Guajardo, Jesus S. Ibañez, Maria A. Ibañez, Jose A. Ibañez and Maribel Ibañez; siblings: Marcia Gracia, Antonio Cantu, Mauro Cantu and Maria E. Llamas; grandchildren: Jesus A. Guajardo, Paula Guajardo, Abram Guajardo, Jesus A. Ibañez, Crystal Arambula, Jessica J. Ibañez, Yul Arambula, Justin Calderon, America Calderon, Angelina Ibañez, Joseline Ibañez, and Jeremiaha Ibañez.

Vistitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024 with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery of McAllen. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
