Maria J. Jackson-Mora

Mission ~ Maria J. Jackson-Mora or otherwise known as Josie was born on March 19, 1960 in Mission, TX. She passed away on June 12, 2025 in the comfort of her residence.

She is survived by her husband: Jorge Mora, her daughter: Melissa Anne Guerra; son-in-law: Alex Guerra; her beloved granddaughters: Kianna Hope Guerra and Chloe Renae Guerra; her brothers: Camilo Garza, and Juan Sosa; and many nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her mother: Evangelina Garza, her father: Lorenzo Garza, her brothers: Miguel Garza Sr., Victor Garza Sr., Jesus Garza, and her sister: Ninon Vargas. 

She was a dedicated employee for Mission CISD for 45 years and loved every minute of it. 

To the world she was known as Mrs. Jackson-Mora, however to the family she was known as Mom, Wife, Grandma, Mother in law, cousin and tia who had the biggest heart and love for everyone.

Viewing will be Monday, June 16, 2025 at Rivera Funeral Home,1813 N. Conway in Mission from 8:30 am to 12:30 PM. A memorial service will be at 11"30 AM. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Santa Fe Cemetery in Mission.
