Maria P. Ruiz

On Tuesday, September 3, 2019 Mrs. Maria P. Ruiz entered in eternal peace surrounded by her family at the age of 102 yrs old. Maria was born on Feb. 11, 1917 in McAllen, Texas to Agustin and Tomasita Padron. Maria was a resident of Edinburg for most of her life. Maria's husband PFC Zacarias Ruiz was killed in Action on April 1945 in Okinawa ,Japan. Maria, a devoted catholic, devoted her life to her children, and her family. She enjoyed tending to her garden, her flowers, and above all she loved Roses. Maria P. Ruiz lived her life to its fullest.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; her Husband PFC Zacarias Ruiz, her daughter- Aurora R. Hernandez, and her siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her children- Isaac (Lilly) Ruiz, Esparanza (Isaac) Espinoza; ten grandchildren and numerous of great grandchildren. 

The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Mrs. Virginia Alfaro for the care and love given to Maria throughout the years.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd. in McAllen from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 PM with Pastor Javier Garcia officiating. Graveside service will be on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Hillcrest Cemetery in Edinburg.
