Pharr ~ Maricela Lara Cazares, a beacon of courage and love, passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas. Born on a warm summer day, July 23, 1956, in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Maricela was the cherished daughter of Precentacion Cazares and Ana Maria Lara. Her spirited nature and infectious smile brought joy to all who knew her.

Maricela's life was a testament to her strength and passion for living. She navigated life's challenges with grace and determination, inspiring her family and friends with her resilience. Her loving spirit was the cornerstone of her family, providing a nurturing presence that will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her adoring children, Marlon Eloy Cazares Lara, Elvia Marbelia Galeana, Jesus Ortiz, Mayra Lucercia Hinojosa, and Rogelio Ribera. Each of them carries a part of Maricela's indomitable spirit and loving heart. Her brother, Enrique Rios, will fondly remember the bond they shared, filled with laughter and unwavering support.

Maricela's legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Alesse Isabela Montez, Xavias Jhon Kenny, Olivia Avi-ana Juarez, and Abel Juarez, II. Her guidance and stories will live on in their memories, shaping their futures with the wisdom and love she imparted.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen. A memorial service celebrating Maricela's remarkable life will commence at 4:00 pm, reflecting on the precious moments and lasting impact she had on those around her.

Maricela's journey through life was marked by her courageous soul and spirited demeanor. She approached each day with a sense of purpose and a desire to spread love in every encounter. Her absence will be felt profoundly, but her spirit will continue to guide and comfort those she has left behind.
