Melva Cavazos-Deason Obituary

McAllen ~ Melva Cavazos-Deason, also known as Melva C Lozano and Melva Cavazos, passed away on April 27, 2023, at her home in McAllen, TX, at the age of 80. She was born on August 3, 1942, in McAllen, TX. Melva fought a courageous battle against cancer until she passed away surrounded by her loving family.

With hard work and dedication, Melva became a successful real estate investor with a diverse portfolio of properties. Starting out as a realtor, she quickly gained a deep understanding of the real estate market and used her knowledge to acquire properties across different areas and asset classes. Over the years, Melva continued to expand her portfolio through savvy investments and strategic acquisitions, leaving behind a legacy as a skilled and well respected real estate professional.  She was dedicated to continuously improving and excelling in everything she did. Melva's hard work and dedication made her a successful businesswoman and an inspiration to others.

For as successful as she was as a business woman, Melva's impact extended far beyond her career. Melva's love and commitment to her lifelong friends was unwavering, and this bond was strengthened by their weekly poker games that started decades ago. These gatherings were a testament to the enduring nature of their friendships, and Melva cherished the moments of laughter, camaraderie, and support that they shared. Even as Melva's real estate career flourished, she always made time for her friends, and her dedication to maintaining these relationships was a testament to her caring and compassionate nature.

Melva was a devoted and loving mother to her children, Cindy, Roy, and Christy. She instilled in them the values of hard work, independence, and a positive attitude that she embodied throughout her life. To her, nothing was out of the realm of possibility, and her children learned from her example of pursuing her dreams and overcoming challenges with determination and grit. They watched her build a successful career singlehandedly in real estate and witnessed her tireless dedication to her family and friends. Her children will always remember her as a shining example of what it means to be a great mother and a successful, risk-taking woman.

As we say goodbye to Melva, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the countless lives she touched. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew her, and her spirit will continue to inspire us all to live lives of courage, generosity, and love. May her spirit be a constant reminder that even in the face of adversity, there is always hope. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Melva is survived by her three children, Cindy Weaver, Roy Lozano, and Christy March; six grandchildren, Sierra Weaver, Savanna Weaver, Mike Weaver, Sydney March, Reanna Lozano, and Roylan Lozano; two brothers Lalo Cavazos and Johnny Cavazos and sister Sylvia Karam.
