Mirtala G. Garza

San Juan, Texas ~ Mirtala G. Garza, 65, entered eternal sleep Friday, October 8, 2021 in McAllen, Texas. Mirta, as she was lovingly known, was born January 4, 1956 in San Juan, Texas to Alejandro and Criselda (Arizpe) Gonzalez. Mirta was a hardworking women with a beautiful and caring heart. God devoted throughout her life. Mirta was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Mirta always made sure her family was happy and loved. Her greatest joy was her children and her grandchildren. 

Mirta was preceded in death by her father: Alejandro Gonzalez; her brother: Roel Gonzalez; her husband: Domingo Garza. 

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved family, children: Maritza J. Garza (Edgar) Guerrero and Domingo Alejandro (Christine) Garza; grandchildren: Danny Garza, Edith Guerrero, Emily Guerrero, Valerie Garza, Desirree Garza, and Khole Garza; mother: Criselda Gonzalez Arizpe; siblings: Ramon Gonzalez, Marta Gonzalez, Rosa Cantu, Rigoberto Gonzalez, Reynaldo Gonzalez, Maribel Gonzalez, Ruben Gonzalez, Raul Gonzalez, Jesus A. Gonzalez, Mirna Guajardo, Margarita Kornegay, Criselda Bradley, and Rolando Gonzalez.

A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd. in McAllen. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery in San Juan.
