McAllen ~ Monica Ibañez, 40, entered eternal rest on Monday, June 28, 2021 at her home in McAllen. She was born on Thursday, April 9, 1981 in Rio Grande City. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
Monica grew up in Rio Grande City as a Catholic. She graduated from Rio Grande City High School in 1999 and continued her education receiving a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from University of Texas Pan American in 2003. She was a resident of McAllen, Texas for 25 years. She was employed with the U.S. Border Patrol since 2006 as a field agent and later transitioning to intelligence agent. She enjoyed vacationing, sight seeing, playing with both her dogs: Pam and Lexi, barbecues and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband: Ricardo Ibañez, Jr.; children: Ian Anthony Ibañez, Aaron Jacob Ibañez, Justin Daniel Ibañez, and Ryan Joseph Ibañez; parents: Franciso and Graciela Guerrero; brothers: Miguel Angel Guerrero and Francisco Javier Guerrero; maternal grandmother: Crecensia Salmon; and her aunt Blanca Salmon whom she loved dearly.
Visitations will be held from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
