Monica Lozano passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at the age of 46, in Colleyville, Texas. She was born on September 25, 1979, and lived a life rooted in love, connection, and devotion to her family.
Above all else, Monica was a devoted mother whose love for her daughters, Joanne and Julie Lozano, was unwavering. Her heart, however, found its greatest joy in her grandchildren, Julian and Emma Villarreal, who were truly the center of her world. They brought her constant happiness, laughter, and light.
Monica is survived by her father, Pilar Lozano; her siblings, Jose Pilar Lozano, Luis Antonio Lozano, Priscilla, Aleida, and Marisol; her sister, Adela Lozano, who lovingly and devotedly cared for her; and her twin sister and best friend, Aide Lozano.
Monica spent much of her life between Mission and San Antonio, Texas. She was outgoing, talkative, and full of life, known for her humor, warmth, and ability to connect deeply with others. . She had a way of embracing life fully, finding beauty and comfort in everyday experiences, and encouraging others to do the same.
A caregiver at heart, Monica spent many years working in healthcare and was proud to have completed her nursing degree. Though she did not have the opportunity to begin this next chapter, her compassion for caring for others was evident throughout her life. Outside of work, She found peace in nature and joy in simple moments, especially hiking, being outdoors, and spending time by the lake where she was truly herself.
Though her life included difficult chapters, Monica faced them with resilience, heart, and grace. During her illness, she remained focused on love, family, and the moments that mattered most, continuing to show strength and warmth until the very end.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen, Texas.
Monica’s memory lives on through her children, her grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
