Nicanora A. Chavez

McAllen - Nicanora A. Chavez, 86, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 20, 2019 at McAllen Heart Hospital. She was born on Wednesday, March 15, 1933 in Sharyland, Texas, the daughter of Santiago and Julia (Vela) Acevedo. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Pete Chavez and a son: Luis Chavez.

She is survived by her son: Jose E. Lopez; two daughters: Judy Lee Precup and Elizabeth Salazar; five grandchildren: Abigail Renee Precup, Michael A. Chavez, Jovani Lee Chavez, Serena Lee Chavez and Ginger Lopez; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday, September 22, 2019 with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Chapel Service will be held at 12:30 pm Monday, September 23, 2019 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
