Obituary
Mission ~ Nora Elvia Avendaño, 80, passed away at her home in Mission on Friday, April 7, 2023. She is preceded in death by her daughter: Sylvia Marie Avendaño; parents: Natividad Guerra and Maria Rodrigues Guerra; two sisters: Bertha B. Cordova and Jesusita Guerra; three brothers, Ramiro, Ricardo and Arnoldo Guerra.
Mrs. Avendaño is survived by her husband of 60 years: Jose A. Avendaño; two sons: Jose A. Avendaño, Jr. (Maria Ellena), and Hector Avendaño; one brother: Alejandro Guerra (Mari Sue); her pride and joy, grandsons: Jeromy J. Avendaño of Mission, Abel Avendaño (Griselda Avendaño) of Houston; her great-grandchildre: Jesiah D. Avendaño, Adric A. Avendaño and Lahnay A. Avendaño of Houston; and also extended nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesday, April 12, 2023 with a Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home in Mission. Funeral Mass will be said at 11:30 am Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Services have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of Mission.
