Oliver Azael Gonzalez

McAllen ~ Oliver Azael Gonzalez, a cherished father, son, and brother, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 42. Born on May 9, 1983, in Ebano, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Oliver brought joy and laughter into the lives of those around him. Oliver was the beloved son of Joel Aguirre and Norma Gonzalez.

His vibrant spirit was a beacon of light for his children, Elias Gonzalez and Nadia Gonzalez, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and compassion. His brother, Miguel Rivera, will fondly remember Oliver.

While Oliver pursued some college education, he was a lifelong learner, continually seeking knowledge and wisdom in every aspect of life.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones to pay their respects and celebrate Oliver's life. Viewing will be held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. A Rosary will be recited in his honor at 7:00 pm that evening at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Following the Mass, Oliver will be laid to rest at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen.

Oliver's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, yet his spirit will continue to live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he gave so freely. His was a life well-lived, full of purpose, warmth, and the deep connections he forged with every person he met.
