Omar Basaldua

McAllen ~ Omar Basaldua, 47, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 27, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at home in McAllen. He was born on Tuesday December 7, 1976 in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Jose Guadalupe Basaldua and Maria Rosenda (Obregon) Basaldua. He is preceded in death by his father: Jose Guadalupe Basaldua and his grandparents: Jorge Basaldua, Sr. and Lupita Basaldua; Agustin Obregon and Consuelo Obregon; brother: Jose Cruz Basaldua, and son: Andrew Dominique Basaldua.

He is survived by his loving wife: Crystal Basaldua; his mother: Rosenda Basaldua; children: Kayla Basaldua, Christian Basaldua; stepsons: Ryan Benitez and Roel Benitez; siblings: Linda Diaz (Basaldua), Connie Rangel (Basaldua), Lupita De La Paz (Basaldua), Corina Basaldua and Robert Basaldua; granddaughter: Xiomara Basaldua.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesday May 1, 2024 with a Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Funeral Mass will be said at 10:00 am Thursday, May 2, 2024 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
