Pedro A. Morales

Pedro A. Morales, 77, of McAllen, Texas, entered into eternal rest on August 15, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of faith, family, service, leadership, and devotion to the community he proudly called home.  Born on October 19, 1948, in Crumrod, Arkansas, Pedro was the son of Anselmo Morales and Magdalena Siller.

Throughout his life, he carried with him a strong sense of purpose and an unwavering desire to serve others. Whether through his faith, his professional endeavors, his civic leadership, or his commitment to strengthening his community, Pedro believed deeply in using the opportunities he was given to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Pedro’s life of service continued long after his military career. He went on to become the owner of Morales Insurance Services, where his work allowed him to serve countless individuals and families throughout the community for over 40 years.

Pedro’s dedication to the Rio Grande Valley extended far beyond his professional career. He served for six years as Chair of the McAllen Housing Authority, where he advocated for housing opportunities and worked diligently on behalf of families in the community. During his tenure, he traveled to Washington, D.C., to help secure funding for local housing initiatives and played an instrumental role in the development of Sunset Gardens Housing Project for Seniors.

His vision for a stronger and more connected community could also be seen through the organizations and traditions he helped build. Pedro was a Co-founder/President of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, helping create opportunities for Hispanic business owners and professionals to grow, connect, and have a stronger voice within the community.

His Faith and heart for spreading God’s word, however, remained at the heart of much of what he did. Pedro also founded Full Gospel Businessmen in the Rio Grande Valley, bringing together faith and fellowship across communities and beyond borders into Mexico. He initiated the change from the McAllen Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast to the McAllen Mayor’s Prayer Luncheon, creating a tradition centered on prayer, unity, leadership, and bringing people together in faith in his community.

Pedro’s many accomplishments tell the story of an extraordinary life, but those who knew and loved him will remember far more than the positions he held or the organizations he helped shape. Behind every achievement was a man who cared deeply about people. He was a man of strong Christian convictions and vision who understood that true leadership was found not simply in holding a title, but in serving others and leaving one’s community better than it was found.

Above all, Pedro treasured his wife and children, who remained at the heart of the life he built and the legacy he leaves behind.  Pedro was preceded in death by his parents, Anselmo Morales and Magdalena Siller Morales, and his beloved son, Mark David Morales.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Leticia Elizondo Morales; his children, Erika Yvette Morales, Pete Damian Morales, Paul Silas Morales, and Matthew Abraham Morales; and his grandchildren, Paul Silas, Hannah Belen, Abigail Loren, Sarah, Mark David, Mark Levi, Gabriella Sophia, and Andrew Jordan Morales. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Glafira Gonzalez, Lee Davila, Vivian Strader, Linda Gail Garza, and Maggie Garcia, as well as numerous extended family members, friends, colleagues, and members of the community whose lives he touched throughout the years.

Pedro’s influence can be found throughout the Rio Grande Valley—in the organizations he helped establish, the opportunities he helped create, the faith he shared, the initiatives he championed, and, most importantly, in the countless lives he touched along the way. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, his hard work and the Christian values by which he lived will continue to speak for him. His was a life of purpose: one devoted to his family, church, grounded in Faith, committed to service, and dedicated to building a stronger community for generations to come.

Pedro A. Morales will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, colleagues, and the many people whose lives were made better because he chose to love and serve them.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Living Word Church, 5208 N. Jackson Rd., Pharr, Texas, followed by a Memorial Service beginning at 6:00 pm. Final gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen. Interment will follow to Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. 

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.

Some people call them Father
Some people call them Dad
Mine truly was the best
I could have ever had

He loved me like no other
He understood me more than anyone could

He was not just my Dad, he was my best friend
