Phillip John Winger passed away on 12/31/2021 in his sleep in Houston Texas. He was born September 08th 1955 in Offut Nebraska to Kenneth and Shirley Winger. He was raised in Minnesota and Wisconsin as a child with his Sister Cindy Winger, and Brother Kenny Winger. He met his first Wife Debra Winger in 1977 and together they had 5 Children: Gabriel, Phillip II, Hannah, Nathan and Josiah. He had a passion for God and Christian music and began preaching and became a traveling Evangelist and Missionary for over 40 years all over the U.S. and in Central America and Asia. He moved to Thailand where he met and married Phathira Hongloy Winger in 2011 and raised his stepson Thanakrit. He loved Phathira and she stayed by his side until his last breath. In Thailand, he taught English and continued preaching the Word of God. He has 8 grandchildren (oldest to youngest): Victoria, Phillip III, Jovannie, Gisselle, Aiden, and Godric, Phoenix, Lorelai. Even during his illnesses, he always remained positive and was the happiest Patient. He would always pray for anyone in any place or over the phone whenever you called. His family is at peace knowing that his body is resting now and that he loved them and loved God and that they will see him again in Heaven. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home,1901 Pecan Blvd. in McAllen. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Rivera Funeral Home at 10:00 AM with Pastor Jaime Gonzalez officiating. Interment will follow to La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen.
