Raymond Morales, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away the morning of Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the age of 82 in McAllen, TX. He was born January 23, 1939 to Rafael Morales and Maria de la Luz in Temple, TX. Those of us lucky enough to have met Raymond know what a selfless, supportive man he was to everyone he met. From his early efforts in West Texas to make bilingual education available to all children, to his tireless efforts as assistant principal at La Joya ISD, his passion for educational excellence was surpassed only by his love and dedication to his family.
His memory lives on with his surviving family: Delia, his loving wife of over 50 years, and four children, Veronica Morales, Maricela Verastegui, Javier Morales and Josue Morales. Along with six grandchildren, the Morales family will carry on his spirit, honor, and integrity into the next generation and beyond.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen, with a viewing at Rivera on Sunday April 11 at 5pm , and burial services at 11am the following Monday April 12 at Rio Grande Veterans Cemetery in Mission, TX.
