Refugio Mosqueda

Refugio Mosqueda, 85, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at her residence in Alton, Texas.

Mrs. Mosqueda was born on April 21, 1941, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to the late Juventino Mosqueda and Amada Rojas-Peña. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose love and guidance will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Reynaldo Acosta, Lupita Acosta, Eleazar Acosta, Alicia Acosta, and Cesar Acosta; her sister, Gregoria Lara; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; as well as her sons-in-law and daughter-in-law, and numerous extended family members and friends.

Refugio’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 26, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home in Mission. A Celebration of Life Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Rivera Funeral Home in Mission. Interment will follow at 11:00 am to Santa Fe Cemetery in Mission.
