Ricardo Peña Obituary

Ricardo Javier Pena, known affectionately as Rick to his friends and loved ones, left this world on September 5, 2025, in Galveston, Texas. Born on February 3, 1960, in Mission, Texas, Rick's life journey was one marked by an unwavering spirit and a heart that sought to uplift everyone around him.

Rick's educational journey at the Baptist University of the Americas was not just a pursuit of knowledge but a testament to his commitment to personal growth and spiritual enlightenment. He was a minister, evangelist, and ventriloquist, a calling that he embraced with the fervor and dedication of someone who truly believed in the power of faith and the importance of community. Rick's vocation as an electrician was a reflection of his practical nature, illuminating the lives of others not just metaphorically but literally, bringing light to dark places with his skilled hands and keen mind.

Aquariums were not just tanks to him but windows to a serene underwater world that he revered. Fishing was a silent conversation with nature, a time for reflection and patience. Camping under the stars, Rick felt at home in the great outdoors, his soul in harmony with the whispering trees and the quiet symphony of the wilderness. A lover of nature, he was a steward of the Earth, teaching by example the importance of preserving the beauty that is our collective inheritance.

To say that Rick was funny, intelligent, and interesting is to acknowledge the light he carried within him-a light that shone through in his humor, his insightful conversations, and the fascinating stories he shared. He had the rare ability to turn the mundane into the interesting, to find the lesson in every experience. Rick's intelligence was not just in his knowledge but in his understanding of people, and his interest in the world was a doorway through which many were invited to expand their own horizons.

Today, as we remember Rick, let us not dwell on the loss. Let his memory be a call to action for each of us to live with purpose, to embrace our passions, and to make a positive impact on the world around us. Rick's life was a testament to the idea that every moment is a gift.

Rick may have departed from this physical world, but his journey continues in the stories we share, the laughter we remember, and the love we carry forward. Let us honor his memory by living with joy, with passion, and with an unquenchable thirst for the wonders of life.
