Rita C. Chapa

Rita C. Chapa, 87, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 17, 2019 surrounded by her family at the Amara Hospice center in Edinburg. Rita was born on February 7, 1931 in Mexico to Lorenzo and Elisa (Guerrero) Cruz. Rita was a long time resident of McAllen. Rita loved to garden,she loved to cook, and to sing. Rita truly enjoyed the company of all her grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by her husband-Aaron Chapa HInojosa; a grandchild-Jaime Aaron Chapa and numerous siblings

Left to cherish Rita's memory is her children-Aaron Evaristo Chapa, Juan Enrique Chapa, Jorge Luis Chapa, Martha Patricia Chapa; a sister-Eva Fonseca Cruz; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Rivera Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens cemetery in Mission.
