Mr. Robert Landres,82, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Aurora House in Weslaco. Robert was born on June 16, 1936 in Manhattan, New York to Samuel and May Landres. Robert grew up in Queens,New York. He attended NYU and Columbia University.Robert was a teacher for most of his life. Robert relocated to California where he helped many children with special needs. Upon retirement Robert and his wife Juanita moved to McAllen, Texas for the past 25 years. Bob, or "Guero" as he was lovingly known by family and friends was a positive, kind, gentle, funny,and caring individual. Robert was always uplifting and encouraging others. Robert was very fluent in English, Spanish,French,and Italian. Robert spent many summers in Mexico. Robert was always a great provider to his wife and his family.
Robert truly lived his life to its fullest.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Diane.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years Juanita Campos Landres
of McAllen; his daughter Diane Landres, his son in law Horacio Ballinas; his proud and loving grandchildren- Natalia and Daniel Ballinas; Extended family and friends. Roberts wish was to be cremated.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home,1901 Pecan, in McAllen from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm
A celebration of life service officiated by Monsignor Juan Nicolau will begin at 3:30 PM.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen.
