Roberto Cortez Obituary

Roberto Alonzo Cortez, also known as Beto, passed away during a rainstorm on May 28, 2024, at 12:52 am. Ironically, his favorite song is "November Rain" by Guns N' Roses.

As the eldest child among four siblings, Robert learned life's invaluable lessons: the importance of hard work, integrity, financial responsibility, and service to others. He was loyal to his friends and family and had a knack for finding humor in every situation.

Roberto lived a vibrant life full of love and adventure. His passion for golf was only rivaled by his love for fishing and the vibrant energy of live concerts. His hunger for adventure led him to marvel at the skylines of New York and Boston, immerse himself in the culture of Germany, revel in the natural beauty of Canada, explore the heights of Denver, and dance to the rhythms of Mexico City. Roberto's enthusiasm for life was contagious, inspiring those around him to live each moment passionately. Roberto was known for his generosity, thoughtfulness, and sense of humor. He enriched the lives of those around him in countless ways and brought joy to every gathering. His infectious spirit was dedicated to making others happy.

For 20 years, Robert dedicated his professional life to M&G Brokerage as a Senior Transportation Broker. This commitment offered him diverse experiences and unique opportunities that shaped his career. Roberto also selflessly served as a basketball referee, embodying fair play and camaraderie.

Born in Pharr on March 13, 1977, to Esthela Cortez Villalon and the late Roberto Cortez Coronado.
He was a source of strength and love for his son, Roberto Fidel Cortez, and his daughters, Valeria Cortez and Jacqueline Lira Angulo.

His deep affection extended to his mother, Estela Cortez, and stepfather, Primitivo Valdez, as well as his sisters (Liliana) Cesar Elizondo and (Melissa) Eduardo Villalobos, his brothers Armando Pizano and Roberto Cortez Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roberto's final journey was filled with happiness, peace, and unwavering love for his devoted wife, Norma Espinoza, with whom he found true love.

He treasured his M&G Brokerage extended family and held many friends close to his heart.

"We love him because he first loved us." (1 John 4:19)
