Rogelio Pruneda, 64, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. He was born on July 8, 1956 in McAllen, Texas to Pablo and Ignacia (Eufrasio) Pruneda. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Rogelio was born and raised in McAllen and graduated from McAllen High School in 1974. He worked for a number of years, enjoying the open road as a delivery truck driver. He was an avid music and film enthusiast who enjoyed old westerns and classic rock n roll. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. They were his world.
He is survived by his loving wife: Maria Guadalupe (Gonzalez) Pruneda of McAllen; daughters: Cassandra Pruneda of Austin and Roxanne (Aaron) Evans of Fort Worth; sons: Christopher Pruneda of McAllen, and Rogelio Pruneda Jr. of McAllen; brothers: Pablo (Victoria) Pruneda and Joel Pruneda of Aurora, Illinois ; sisters: San Juanita(Jose) Vargas, Paula Lopez, of Aurora, Illinois and Mary Alice Garza of Mission; and five grandchildren; Kaela Bustamante, Mila Pompa, Michael Pruneda, Travis Evans, and Trent Evans.
Rogelio will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and those whose lives he touched. Rogelio was never one to like being the center of attention and per his wishes there will be no services. His family will celebrate his memory in private. Service arrangements are being handled by Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and keeping with social distancing orders, all necessary restrictions will be observed in order to protect the health and safety of those in attendance. Wear face coverings while inside the building. Continue to practice social distancing while inside the funeral home chapel.
