Rolando Madrazo Obituary

Rolando Montehermoso Madrazo, affectionately known as Rolly to his friends and loved ones, lived a life marked by exuberance, wisdom, and an unending capacity for love. Born on April 30, 1947, in the Philippines, Rolly embarked on an extraordinary journey that spanned 77 remarkable years, culminating in a peaceful passing at his home in McAllen, Texas, on February 25, 2025.

Rolly's early years in the Philippines were filled with the pursuit of knowledge and self-discovery. He attended Loyola Marymount University where he delved into the world of Philosophy, a discipline that would shape his thoughtful approach to life. His dedication to study was a testament to his intelligence and his unwavering quest for understanding the world and the human condition.

Professionally, Rolly's career was a reflection of his commitment and versatility. He served with distinction as a Secretary at Coca-Cola in Zamboanga City, Philippines, where his colleagues revered him for his kindness and his ability to inspire those around him. Rolly's work was more than a job; it was an avenue through which he connected with people, always striving to make a positive impact on their lives.

Beyond his professional life, Rolly's interests painted a picture of a man with a passion for culture and creativity. He found solace in reading, allowing himself to be transported to different worlds through the magic of words. As a writer, he shared his own insights, weaving narratives that captivated and motivated others. Rolly's love for sports was more than a pastime; it was a celebration of the human spirit's resilience and teamwork. Music and cooking were his instruments of love, as he sang in the choir, strummed the guitar, and created culinary delights that brought family and friends together in joyous communion.

Rolly's life was a symphony of love and devotion to his family. His beloved wife, Antonniette, was his partner in every sense, sharing in his dreams and aspirations. Together, they nurtured a family that included their daughters, Anne Veronique, Marie Carmine, Luz Angelique, their son, Luke Dominic, and their cherished grandchildren, Rosemarie Eve and Grayson Michael. Rolly's sons-in-law, Geoffrey and Gabriel Alfonso, were embraced as part of this tightly-knit circle of love and support.

Those who knew Rolly would unanimously agree that he was a beacon of kindness, always extending a hand of friendship and a word of encouragement. His presence was a source of comfort and his guidance, a light for those in search of direction. As a testament to his character, the words intelligent, loving, and kind are the echoes of his legacy that resonate most profoundly.

In the spirit of Rolly's inspirational life, we recall the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Rolly lived by these words, and through his actions, he achieved an immeasurable success that touched countless lives.

As we celebrate Rolly's life, we remember not just the milestones but the everyday moments that he turned into treasures. His laughter, his counsel, and his unwavering positivity are gifts that will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of all who were privileged to know him.

Rolando Montehermoso Madrazo's story does not end with his passing, for his spirit endures in the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the lives he inspired. He has left us a blueprint of a life well-lived, one filled with passion, purpose, and the unrelenting pursuit of joy. Let us honor his memory by embracing the beauty in our own lives and by making a difference in the lives of others, just as he did. Rolly's journey was one of a kind, and his legacy will forever be a guiding star for those who aspire to lead a life of love, kindness, and inspiration.
