McAllen ~ Ronald James Haynes, 80, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, at South Texas Health System in Edinburg. Born on November 30, 1944, in Houston, Texas, the son of the late Macon Haynes and the late Doris Breaux. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son: Christopher Garlan Haynes-Ramirez in 2022.
Ronald's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his service to his country. As a young man he honorably served in the US Army, attaining the rank of SP5(T) from 1964 to 1967. His time in the military instilled in him a sense of discipline and commitment that would define his civilian life. Upon returning to civilian life, Ronald channeled his leadership and determination into his own business, founding a successful pool company. He poured his heart and soul into the business, ensuring that each project reflected his high standards and attention to detail.
Above all, Ronald was a family man. He found his greatest joy in the company of his beloved wife, Rocio Ramirez de Haynes; their daughter, Nicole D. Haynes-Ramirez; their son: Christopher Garland Haynes-Ramirez; grandchildren, Madison Champion-Haynes and Kayleigh Champion-Haynes.; son-in-law: Trampas Champion.
Ronald's family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and legacy during a visitation from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025 with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen. Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 21, 2025, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 900 S. 23rd St., McAllen.
As we bid farewell to Ronald James Haynes, we celebrate a life well-lived. His was a journey of dedication, love, and joy. Though he has left this earthly realm, his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his kindness. Ronald's story is one of a life fully embraced, and he will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
