In Loving Memory of Roy Rodriguez 

Roy Rodriguez, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and veteran, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026 at the age of 64.

A proud Texan and devoted family man, Roy served his country in the United States Army and later served as an Army Ranger. His service was an important part of who he was, reflecting his courage, strength, and deep sense of duty.

Roy was one of thirteen children, and family was always at the heart of his life. He cherished his parents, Robert and Maria Rodriguez, and is now reunited with them in heaven. He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Yliana Kennedy, Estefania Birdwell, and Grecia Roland, who will carry his memory and love with them always.

He was a proud grandfather to Beckett Kennedy, Hudson Kennedy, Briggs Kennedy, and Jack Birdwell, who brought him tremendous joy and whose lives will forever be touched by his.

Those who knew Roy will remember his adventurous spirit and his love of excitement. He was a thrill seeker who embraced life, adventure, and experiences that made for stories worth telling. He lived with a sense of courage and curiosity and never seemed to shy away from the next adventure.

Above all, Roy loved his family. His life was shaped by the people he loved, the adventures he pursued, and the memories he created along the way. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, siblings, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

May he rest in peace and may he be reunited with his loved ones in heaven.

Gathering of family and friends will gather on Friday, September 4th, 2026 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm with the Eulogy at 12:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at Rio Grande Valley State Veteran's Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd., Mission. 

Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
