Santiago "Pepe" Zuniga

Santiago "Pepe" Zuniga, 48, entered into eternal rest on Saturday February 7, 2026 at South Texas Health System McAllen. He was born on Wednesday August 17, 1977 in Bakersfield, California, the son of Eloy and Maria (Gutierrez) Zuniga. 

Santiago Zuniga was a loving, intelligent, kind, and funny man who brought light into the lives of everyone around him. He had a unique way of showing his love, even when he was playfully arguing, it was simply his way of caring deeply. He would go to the ends of the earth to help you find a solution to any problem.

He cherished his family above all else and loved each and every one of them deeply. He will be greatly missed, and we find comfort in knowing he will always be watching over us from above. His legacy of love and strength will live on through his family.

He is survived by his loving wife: Blanca (Cantu) Zuniga; his children: Santiago Zuniga, Jr., Nathaniel Zuniga and Aleena Zuniga; three grandchildren; his parents: Eloy and Maria Zuniga; sister: Myra Zuniga; brother: Eloy Zuniga Jr. 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm Saturday, February 14, 2026 with a Prayer Service being held at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen. 

Cremation services have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
