Selena Irene Garza, a beacon of creativity and passion, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in McAllen, Texas, at the age of 28. Born on July 18, 1997, in Jackson, Michigan, Selena's radiant spirit and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Selena's journey began as the cherished daughter of Maria Elena Garza, and she grew up alongside her loving siblings, Laura Marissa and Gabriel Joseph. Her family circle expanded with the joyous additions of her nephew, Deryn Anthony Muñiz, and niece, Liana Alexandra Salinas.

A proud two-time cancer survivor, Selena's resilience and strength were an inspiration. Her tenacity was only matched by her creativity, which she expressed through her love of art and drawing. Selena's passion extended to the beauty world, where she was both a connoisseur and an innovator in makeup and skincare.

Selena's life was a melody composed of her favorite tunes, with a special place in her heart for the music of Bob Marley. Her love for vibrant characters shone through her admiration for the Joker, and she found comfort in the soft embrace of her cherished stuffed animal, Tigger.

Fashion was another canvas for Selena's creative expression, and she navigated it with style and flair. Above all, her family was her masterpiece, with each member playing a unique and irreplaceable role in her life. The bond she shared with her family, her momma and with her beloved dog, Moses Dean Treviño, was a testament to her capacity for love and companionship.

Selena's legacy will be honored with a visitation from 3 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, March 26th, 2026, followed by a service at 7 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen.
