Servey Cavazos, 72, went home with the Lord on September 30, 2020. Mrs. Cavazos was born on July 5, 1948 to the late parents of Simon Vela and Maria Magdalena de la Rosa Vela at Hereford, Texas. She loved to dance, crochet, and listening to music. She was very loved and respected. Her first occupation was truck driver, alongside with her father for many years, and agriculture. After marriage, she became a housewife and then a care giving provider.
Mrs. Cavazos is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Juan Cavazos, Jr., and her son, Erick A. Cavazos.
Servey Cavazos is survived by her sons, Juan Cavazos III, and Simon Cavazos with spouse Yesenia Cavazos, her daughters, Senaida Zamarripa with spouse, Arturo Zamarripa, Adelaida Garza with spouse Adan Garza, Camelia Ledezma with spouse Rene Ledezma, Servey Zarate with spouse Ricardo Zarate, and Crystal Piña with spouse Francisco Piña. Her grandchildren, Melissa Blackmore, Ernestina M. Adame, Arturo Zamarripa, Jr., Aaron Zamarripa, Arlett Zamarripa, Adriana Garza, Adan Garza III, Amanda Garza, Eusebio Cavazos, Ailly Cavazos, Leonor M. Cavazos, Simon A. Cavazos, Jr., David Ledezma, Kevin Ledezma, Derick Ledezma, Jonique Zarate, Kassandra L. Zarate, Daniel Cavazos, Kayla Cavazos, Nicolai Cavazos, Juan F. Piña, Simon M. Piña. Her great grandchildren Luigi, Joslynn, Laila, Lawrence, Jaelynn, James, Lina, Rowen, Leah, and Aaliyah.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 5:30 pm at Rivera Funeral Homes of McAllen. Graveside will be held at San Jose Cemetery in Mission on October 9, 2020 at 10:00 am. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and keeping with social distancing orders, all necessary restrictions will be observed in order to protect the health and safety of those in attendance. Wear face coverings while inside building. Continue to practice social distancing while inside the funeral home chapel. We continue to ask that those at risk or those not feeling well stay home and reach out to the family through our obituary page.
