Sgt. Pedro Villarreal, III Obituary

McAllen/Louisiana ~ Sgt. Pedro (Pete) Villarreal III, 40 years old born on September 14, 1980. His hometown was McAllen and he resided in Louisiana. Pedro is proceeded in death by his paternal grandmother: Lilia R. Villarreal and both maternal grandparents: Salomon and Juliana Rodriguez.

He is survived by his parents: Pedro Villarreal Jr. and Leticia R. Villarreal; grandfather: Pedro F. Villarreal; four siblings: Roxanne (Luis Prichard), Joe S. Villarreal (Maggie Villarreal), John W. Villarreal, and Michael V. Villarreal; aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.

Pedro is a McAllen High School graduate, class of 1999. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1999 - 2007. Pedro is a veteran of the Iraq War (2005). Pedro’s experience in the Marines played a very important role in his life. He often pointed out that the Marines taught him the value of discipline and commitment. Pedro also enjoyed the outdoors. 

A viewing will take place at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen on 09/14/21 from 1-9 pm with a rosary at 7 pm.  Funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph the Worker in McAllen on 09/15/21 at 12:30 pm, with the burial immediately following at Rio Grande Valley State Veteran’s Cemetery in Mission at 2:00 pm. 

Funeral arrangements are provided by family & friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe S. Villarreal, John W. Villarreal, Michael V. Villarreal, Luis E. Prichard, Michael D. Cavazos, Rolando Gonzalez, Paul Botello Jr., Benito Mateos. and Javier L. Salazar Garza.
