Thomas Hagen, 79 years, of McAllen, passed away on Saturday September 4, 2021 at the Mission Regional Medical Hospital. He was born on Thursday September 25, 1941 in Newark, New Jersey , the son of Thomas and Marie (De Maio) Hagen. He was a resident of the McAllen/Mission and the Rio Grande Valley for many years. He proudly served his country from 1960 to 1963.
Thomas Hagen lived life to its fullest. He loved cooking, where he made the best Italian sandwiches, all while he cooked he sang and danced the time away. He was NEVER NOT cooking! Thomas was always up early in the day because "the early bird gets the worm." He would religiously ride his bike every Sunday at 4:00 p.m. He was a very hard worker who loved his mother and was simply a person to look up to. He had many friends and always helped those in need. He loved jokes and gave everyone he met a nick name. He will forever be loved and remembered by his family and friends.
Survivors Include: His children- Bryan Hagen, Anna Hagen, Debora Hagen; His Step daughter-Leslie Bowman; Several grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Visitation services will be Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:30 p.m.at Rivera Funeral Home LLC 1813 N. Conway Ave., Mission. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 16, from 11:30-12:30 PM at Rivera Funeral Home, LLC 1813 N. Conway Ave., Mission. Thomas's Interment will take place at 1:00 PM at Rio Grande Valley State Veteran's Cemetery 5250 Inspiration Rd., Mission. Military Honors under the auspices of VFW post 8788 of McAllen.
Funeral services are being handled by Rivera Funeral Home of Mission.
