On Monday, November 8, 2021, our beautiful, loving, devoted mother Virginia Torres, earned her wings. Mother moved on to her heavenly home surrounded by her children and loved ones. Although we will miss her tremendously, she will make Heaven a better place and she will always be in our hearts. She will always be our guardian angel. Mother was born on April 14, 1935 in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Amador and Margarita Cardenas. She married our father, Isaac Torres Sr. on September 27, 1953. They moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in December of 1955 then to Acampo, California in May of 1960. Mother was a strong, hard-working woman and she was able to work even the hardest of jobs. From picking grapes to driving the big gondola trucks.
Mother loved spending her precious time with her family and was never bothered by all the noise. She said the best sound she ever heard was of the laughter of her children and grandchildren. Mother loved all of her family so unconditionally and was blessed with an abundance of patience...God knew she would need it. Mother loved gardening and she had the greenest thumb to show it. Mother also loved sewing and cooking; she made the best gorditas EVER...among other foods. Above all, Mother loved reading her bible and going to church. Mother had such a strong devotion to God that she truly set the bar high for the rest of us.
Mother is preceded in death by our father, two sons, Carlos Jaime and Oscar Noel. Her parents, her brothers: Manuel Hilario, Rafael, Israel, Leonard and Pedro; her sisters, Evangelina, Mercedes and Ramona.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jose Alfredo Torres (Rosa), Graciela Rivera, Isaac Torres Jr., Norma Torres Treviño (Ramiro), Mirna Guerrero, Lucila Torres Martinez (Raymond); 27 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are under the care of Rivera Funeral Home at 1813 N. Conway Ave. in Mission, TX. Viewing will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a service at 7:00 pm. Church service will be Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11:00 am at Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 1725 W. Griffin Pkwy in Mission, TX. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens at 3601 N. Taylor Rd in Mission, TX where she will be laid to rest next to our dad.
