Yolanda C. Castillo

Yolanda "Yoli" Castillo, a beloved and cherished member of the McAllen community, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2023, in McAllen, Texas, at the age of 68. Born on May 17, 1954, in McAllen. Yolli was a lifelong resident who was known for her friendly, generous, and creative spirit.

Yoli is survived by her loving family, including her goddaughters: Casandra Castillo and Valerie Reyes; her siblings Adolfo (Della) Castillo, Oralia (Joe) Diaz, Hortencia (Manuel) Garcia, Juanita Castillo, George (Rosalva) Castillo, Yolanda Castillo, Olga Castillo, Dolores Castillo, Aurelio (Melissa) Castillo, adn Rosa Jimenez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored her. 

Yoli was a proud graduate of McAllen High School and went on to dedicate over 35 years to Walmart, ending her career as an assistant manager. Known for her dedication and hard work, Yoli was a valuable member of the Walmart family and will be remembered fondly by her colleagues.

Yoli's interest were vast and varied, reflecting her creative and adventurous spirit. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, visiting casinos, attending her nieces and nephews' school events, and bargain shopping. Yoli was also an avid history buff, often sharing her knowledge and passion with her loved ones.

Throughout her life, Yoli was known for her friendly and generous nature. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and took great joy in brightening the lives of those around her. Her creativity shone through in her hobbies and interest, as well as in her approach to life. Yoli had a unique ability to see the beauty and potential in everything, which endeared her to all who knew her. 

Yolanda "Yoli" Castillo will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and the entire McAllen community. Her bright spirit, warm heart, and boundless creativity will live on in the hearts and memories of all who were fortunate enough to know her. 

Visitations will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen with Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm. Cremation to follow. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
