Yolanda Famiglietti Obituary

Yolanda Noemi Famiglietti, a longtime resident of Edinburg, TX, passed away after a long illness on May 6, 2023.  Yolanda was born March 17, 1935 and raised in Gualeguaychú, Argentina.  After moving to Morón, Argentina, she married her husband, Vito, and bore two sons, Carlos (Lynn)  and Ernesto.  A short time later, after bidding farewell to loved ones, they immigrated with their young family to the United States.

Settling in Hartford, CT, Yolanda once again established a home and once again bore a child, this time a daughter, Rosanna.  Soon, the growing family moved to Waterbury, CT, where two more children were born, a son, John, and a daughter, Linda (J.P.).

Yolanda was employed at Timex Corporation in Middlebury, CT for 20 years. After moving to Edinburg, TX she worked for the law firm of Laurier McDonald for an additional 20 years.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Vito Famiglietti. and survived by a sister, Lula Trupia, of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and many nieces and nephews.

A devoted wife and loving mother, Yolanda always maintained a warm and welcoming home for family, friends, and strangers alike.  She had a deep love of people of all backgrounds.  Yolanda never missed an opportunity to listen to, encourage, or bless others in any way possible.  Her talents and skills were many, and her joyful spirit was not only her calling card, but her own personal strength.  Yolanda was known for her storytelling that could leave you awestruck as well as laughing, for the twinkle in her eye was never far, and her humor was always ready for any moment or occasion!  Much can be said of her love of children, animals, birds, trees and flowers, dancing, music, preparing delicious foods, and curiosity about anything!

But for anyone who knew Yolanda, she will be missed most of all for her touch.

In addition to Yolanda’s five children mentioned above, also left behind to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Jessica Varholak (Nick), Vito Famiglietti (Alison), Savannah Holdsworth (Nick), Preston Henrichson (Analisa), Taylor Famiglietti, Sean Monday, Madison Famiglietti, Bridgette Famiglietti, Julia Monday, Christian Famiglietti, Wendy Smartt (Tim), Edward Henrichsonâ™° (Luci) , Kevin Henrichson (Kate), Nathalia Brown (James), and Lauren Lemieux.
